Esther M. Prible

Esther M. Prible 98, of Liberty Center passed away at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, March 08, 2015, at River Terrace Estates in Bluffton, where she has resided for the last 11 years. Esther was born on June 17, 1916 in rural Liberty Center to C. Forest & Dora A. (Miller) Prible. She graduated from Liberty Center High School and obtained her B.S. and Master’s Degree from Manchester College. She started teaching in Rockcreek School, in Montpelier and for East Allen County Schools. She retired teaching 5th grade at Village Woods Elementary School after 42 years in public education. She was a member of the Liberty Center United Methodist Church, where she played the piano and organ for church and was active in the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Liberty Center Homemakers Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Indiana State Teachers Association along with the National Educators Association and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Wells Community Hospital. She enjoyed traveling and there are only two states she did not visit. She explored Europe three times, Alaska twice and enjoyed traveling to the Holy Land with different groups of ladies, especially the Sellers Sisters. Esther is survived by nine nephews and nieces: David Prible of Bluffton, Saundra Bergman of Jerome, MI, Sara Pursifull of Bluffton, Susie Ellison of Bluffton, Larry Prible of Carmel, IN, Jane Givens of Greenwood, Ray Prible of Reedville, Virginia, Janet Herring of Bluffton and Kathy Denig of Fort Wayne along with many great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by four brothers; John, Harold, Paul & Edwin Prible and two sisters; Mary Moses and Martha Morris. A service to celebrate Esther’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday (March 13, 2015) at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Pastor Jerry Qualls will officiate. Calling hours will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mossburg Cemetery in Liberty Center. Memorials may be given in Esther’s memory to Liberty Center United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton.
