Emmaline M. Hinshaw

Emmaline M. Hinshaw age 85, a resident of Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton departed this life to begin her eternal life on May 3, 2021. Born May 13, 1935, in Bluffton, Indiana to Calvin Clarence McBride and Dorothy (Brewer) McBride, both parents preceded her in death. She met the love of her life, Richard K Hinshaw and they married on July 2, 1954 in Bluffton, Indiana, he preceded her in death on December 15, 1983. She graduated from Bluffton High School and was a lifelong member of Murray Missionary Church. She was employed at Micklitsch Beauty salon and retired as a Norwell bus driver. Emmaline enjoyed ballroom dancing, sewing, playing cards and word puzzles. She loved spending time with family at her pool. Survivors include: Richard (Julie) Hinshaw -Bluffton, Janet (Doug) Bixler- Berne, Pam (Mike) Bennett- Bluffton, Linda (John) Miner- Arizona, Betty (Tom Hoffman) Hinshaw- Huntington. 2 sisters; Barbara Mygrant - Bluffton, Shirley Voght – Huntington. Six grandchildren; Melissa Hinshaw-Fort Wayne, April Courtice of Ohio, Angie Brinneman of Kansas, Laura Thomas, Bluffton Rebecca Stewart-Bluffton and Katie Brown – Bluffton. Ten great grandchildren; Sydney Brinneman, Maxwell Biggs, Trey Courtice and Alex Courtice, Lucas Stewart, Logan Stewart, Brooklyn Thomas, Addison Thomas, Caven Brown, and Ryker Brown. Emmaline is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Hinshaw, companion Spenser Andrews and a granddaughter: Bobby Jo Hinshaw and a great-granddaughter, Audrey Courtice. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Pastor Mike Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Ossian, Indiana. Calling hours will be held from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. on Saturday, prior to the funeral service.
