Daniel Stanton Welsh

Daniel Stanton Welsh 79, of Bluffton passed away Thursday morning January 14, 2021 at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center. Daniel was born on March 4, 1941 in Bluffton to Kenneth Abner Welsh and Ester (Smith) Welsh. He was a 1960 graduate of Bluffton High School. He worked at Fruehauf from 1963 to 1981 and the Foundry from 1983 to 2003. He worked at Walmart from 2004 until his retirement in 2012. Daniel loved to fish, bowl and take his fully restored truck to car shows. He loved taking care of his horses and dogs, especially his boxers. He enjoyed telling jokes and playing tricks on family and friends. He attended Life Church in Bluffton for the last 10 years. Daniel and Floneta J. Thompson were married in Bluffton on February 23, 1963. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Floneta J. Welsh, his children; Kathryn J. (Alan) Simon of Celina, OH, James A. (Jackie) Welsh of Liberty Center, Danielle M. Dawn of Warsaw, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Kelly Welsh, five brothers, Jim, Bob, Bill, Tom, and Gene, and a sister Mariam. Visitation for Daniel will take place on Tuesday (January 19, 2021) from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home. A private family service to celebrate Daniel’s life will take place following visitation with Pastor Steve Surbaugh officiating. Private family burial will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery. Friends wishing to watch Daniel’s service can do so from the safety of their home, utilizing a Zoom Meeting.
