Steven Paul Vaughan Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Steven Paul Vaughan, Jr., 51 of Bluffton, passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 28, 2021, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 2, 1969 in Beaufort, South Carolina to Steven Paul Vaughan, Sr. and Judy (Oliver) Peek. Steve was a retired Staff Sergeant who proudly served his country for 14 years in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Afghanistan. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan who enjoyed watching a good movie with his family. If he wasn’t at home, you could probably find him on a cruise ship or in a casino or in a casino on a cruise ship! One of his more recent passions was volunteering for the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation. On August 3, 1991, Steve and Frances (Florence) Vaughan were married. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Frances Vaughan of Bluffton. He was a loving father to Lynzi (Mayra) Williams, Lesli (Jeremiah) Vipond, and Daniel Vaughan (Yuki Lozano). He was a loving PaPa to Taylor and Gabe. He is also survived by siblings; Michelle (Mark) Griffin, William (Tracy) Vaughan, Chad (Lori) Vaughan, Stacey (Chris) Fields, and Stephanie (Jason) Brickley. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Steven P (Charlotte) Vaughan, Sr. and Judy Oliver Peek and grandparents Dan and Iona Oliver. Calling hours will be held on Friday (April 2, 2021) from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Graveside services will follow at 1 P.M. on Friday at Marion National Cemetery with Rev. Lyle Breeding officiating followed by full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation and should be directed to the funeral home.
