Juan V Betancourt

Juan V. Betancourt 65 of Bluffton passed away at 4:12 a.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Juan was born on August 5, 1949 in Brownsville, Texas to Albert & Tonia (Vega) Betancourt. He moved to Bluffton in 1980 from Texas and was the supervisor and a foreman for the Freemont Company in Bluffton for 25 years, retiring in 2013. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church along with holding memberships in the Bluffton Eagles and the Moose Lodge. On September 14, 1968 in Portland, Indiana Juan and Kathie Lewis were married. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Kathie of Bluffton along with children: Starr (husband Scott) Lowe of Bluffton, Rosario Betancourt of Bluffton, Marco (Amy) Betancourt of Bluffton and Juan (Angie) Betancourt of Ohio along with 15 grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings: Nena (Eddie) Sosa of Brownsville, Texas, David (Toni) Esparza of California, Juanita (Jose) Alvarey of Olmita, Texas, Linda (Frank) Gonzales, Jose Esparza, Luis (Mary) Esparza, Franisco (Romonia) Esparza and Margaurita (Robert) Bookerkey all of Brownsville, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Fidel Esparza. A celebration of life party will be held at a later date this summer.
