Bonnie L. Ware Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bonnie L. Ware, 86 of Bluffton, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born on August 13, 1935 in Bluffton to Edwin R. & Nellie M. (Kahn) Smeltzer. Bonnie attended Bluffton High School. Bonnie was a member of the PTA and a Girl Scout Leader. Bonnie loved spending time at the family Lake Cottage, where she could be found fishing. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and doing crafts that she would sell at various craft shows. On April 5, 1952, Bonnie and Harold Ware were married. The shared 69 years of marriage together before his passing on June 25, 2021. Survivors include two children; Harold E. (Linda) Ware, Jr. of Wapakoneta, Ohio and Karen S. (Booth) Myers of Bluffton. She was a loving grandma to 6 grandchildren; Angela Ware, Shelley Ware, Jennifer Booth, Kelli Booth and Christy (Trevor) Troxel and 9 great-grandchildren. Bonnie is also survived by her sister Barbara Edington of Bluffton. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents, a grandson Bradley Ware and siblings; Elmer David Smeltzer, Edwin R. Smeltzer, Jr. and Calvin Smeltzer. Visitation will be held from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Monday (November 29, 2021) at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. There will be no formal service and burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton. Memorials may be made in Bonnie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
