Ralph F. Schaadt

Ralph F. Schaadt 89 of Bluffton passed away on Tuesday morning February 16, 2021 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Ralph was born on September 1, 1931 in Rockford, OH, to Victor Schaadt and Luella (Affolder) Schaadt. Ralph was a 1949 graduate of Rockford High School in Rockford, OH. He was drafted by the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served from July 1953 to July 1954. Ralph sold insurance for many years with Graber Insurance in Berne. He was a member of the Bethel Brethren Church in Berne. On January 28, 1956 at the Reiffsburg United Methodist Church, Ralph F. Schaadt and Virginia (Cochran) Schaadt were married. They celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to her passing on October 28, 2020. Survivors include his children; Pamela (Bill Young) Britton of Roanoke, David M. (Carolyn) Schaadt of Leo, Kristy K. (Jeff) Hensley of Bluffton, Richard A. (Gretchen) Schaadt of Churubusco along with 12 grandchildren; Victoria D. (Kyle) Duncan-Dildine, Daniel T. Duncan, Tyler S. (Rachel) Duncan, Ryan M. (Gabrielle) Schaadt, Andrew M. Schaadt, Audra L. (Ryan) Hilker, Dustin (Kayli) Hensley, Natasha V.R.(Brandon) Swygart, Collin D. (Anna) Hensley, Aiden L. Miller, Olivia L. Schaadt and Zeke A. Schaadt and 7 great-grandchildren; Alaina G.M. Dildine, Leelah F.D. Dildine, Eleanor V. Schaadt, Judah M. Hensley, Elon J. Hensley, Evered Hensley and Adaline G. Hensley. Ralph is survived by his brother John (Cathy) Schaadt of Decatur, a sister-in-law LaDonna Schaadt of Berne. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia Schaadt, and a brother William Schaadt. Funeral services will take place at 3 P.M. Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Pastor Joe Nass officiating. Burial will follow at Stahl Cemetery in rural Bluffton. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. prior to the service. Memorials may be made in Ralph’s memory to Bethel Brethren Church in Berne. The safety of the family and all visitors is our utmost priority. For everyone’s safety, we ask that you practice social distancing. Masks are required for visitation and for Ralph’s service. During the current guidelines, we are only allowed a limited number of people in the building at a time. We appreciate your cooperation and patience.
