Mark D. Durham

Mark Durham, 47 of Jackson Township, Wells County, went home to his loving father on Friday morning, January 8, 2021, surrounded by his family. Mark now has one of the best hunting stands available! Mark was born on April 28, 1973 in Bluffton to Billie Durham and Kathy Hupp-Smith and graduated from Bluffton High School in 1992. Mark had a true love for the outdoors and all it had to offer. He served our community through Dillman Church as an Elder, Southern Wells School as a Board Member for 2 terms and started the NASP Archery Program at Southern Wells School and worked as an instructor. He was the founder and instructor for the Outdoor Pursuits Program through Wells County 4-H. He was dedicated to teaching youth about the beauty of the outdoors and basic skills. Mark has been very involved in the Whitetails Unlimited program in Wells County. Mark worked as a National Fleets Parts Manager for NESCO Specialty Rentals in Bluffton. On January 3, 2009 in Bluffton, Mark married the love of his life, Juliann (Kleinknight) Durham. Together, they have raised an amazing family with three children, Olivia C. Durham, Harlie A. Durham and Hunter D. Durham, of Jackson Township, Wells County. Mark was very involved in his children’s sporting events, activities and interests. He was always ready to coach, serve as a leader or to help in any way that was needed. In addition to Juliann and children in Jackson Township, Mark is also survived by his father, Billie Durham of Bluffton and mother, Kathy Hupp-Smith of Fort Wayne, a sister, Vickie Durham-Heron of Bluffton and a brother, Todd Durham of Bluffton, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family. Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 on Friday, (Jan. 15, 2021) at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. A service to Celebrate Mark’s life will take place at 11 A.M. on Saturday, (Jan. 16, 2021) at Dillman Church. Pastor Matt Kennedy and Jeff Lemler will officiate, with calling for one hour prior to the service at the church. Friends wishing to watch Mark’s service can do so from the safety of their home, utilizing a Zoom Meeting. You can login using the Zoom Meeting I.D. # 838 9293 5243 and you can login after 10:45 A. M. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021. Memorials may be made in Mark’s memory to his family, payable to Juliann Durham and can be sent to the funeral home. The safety of the family and all visitors is our utmost priority. For everyone’s safety, we ask that you practice social distancing. Masks are required for visitation and for the funeral service.
