Catherine Joanne Quinton

Catherine Joanne Quinton, 88 of Bluffton, gained her eternal reward on Tuesday morning, November 3, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on October 11, 1932 in Delaware County, Indiana to Charles E. & Bertha E. (Brees) Pence. On August 11, 1950 in Muncie, Joanne and Pastor Arnold L. Quinton were married. She dedicated her life to Christ, serving her entire life as a pastor’s wife in many capacities and will forever be remembered as loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was an active member of Christian New Light Church in Bluffton. Joanne was a wonderful prayer warrior and individually prayed for each member of her family and church daily. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Pastor Arnold Quinton of Bluffton and 6 children; Rose (Pastor Tim) McKnight of Bluffton, Rita Kiefer of Bluffton, Timothy (Rebecca) Quinton of Fort Wayne, David Quinton of Dunkirk, Ruth (Ralph) Pierce of Bluffton and Rebecca Quinton of Bluffton, along with 12 grandchildren 37 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Hazel McCormick, Esther Clevenger, Frances Corn, Josephine Briggs, Earl Pence, Albert Pence, Ruth Atkins and Lloyd Pence and also preceded in death were a son-in-law Ron Kiefer, and grandchildren-in-law Todd Mann and Chasity McKnight. Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday (November 7, 2020) at the Christian New Light Church, 1011 West Washington Street in Bluffton. A Service to celebrate Joanne’s life will take place at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday (November 8, 2020) at the Christian New Light Church with calling for one hour prior to the service. Pastor Tim McKnight and Jeff Lemler will officiate. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton. Memorials may be made to the Christian New Light Church.
