Huntre K. Nelson, 6, Bluffton, died at 7:13 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2010 as a result of an accidental drowning. Born in Anchorage, Alaska on January 2, 2004 to Nathan P. and Angela M. (Melton) Nelson, he was a student at Lancaster Elementary School. Survivors include his parents, the mother lives in Bluffton, the father lives in Port Orchard, Wash.; three sisters, Kittiarra N. Melton, Cheerikee A. Melton, both of Bluffton and Kylie E. Heinzel-Nelson of Port Orchard, Wash.; grandparents Christopher Clay of Whitmore Lake, Mich., Isobel Nelson and Michael Nelson of Port Orchard, Wash.; great-grandparents Lorraine and Jerry Morris of Memphis, Tenn., Ilianna Sooter, Willis Nelson and Ardis Nelson, all of Payette, Idaho; two uncles, Jason (Sheena) Clay of Whitmore Lake, Mich. and Aaron Nelson of Port Orchard, Wash.; an aunt, Sarah Nelson of Port Orchard, Wash.; and a great-aunt, Tammy Simpson of Decatur; cousins Tony and John Simpson of Decatur, Jaiden Rutherford and Tristan Blackwell of Port Orchard, Wash. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Lorrie A. Frame. Huntre recently graduated from kindergarten at Lancaster Elementary School. He enjoyed playing video games and spending time with the family dog, Ella. He sacrificed himself to save his sister from drowning in the Wabash River. Services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Sonlight Wesleyan Church with Pastor Lyle Breeding officiating. Calling hours are at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
