| Francis E. VanCamp, Sr., 83 of Bluffton passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. He was born August 18, 1926, in Montpelier, Indiana to William and Flossie (Evers) VanCamp. On February 7, 1948 at Ft. Wayne, he married Mary Ann Elick and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2005.
He attended Rockcreek High School and was employed at Franklin Electric Company for 36 ½ years retiring in August of 1991. He lived most of his life in Wells County. Mr. Van Camp attended Park United Brethren Church and enjoyed bowling and watching stock car racing.
Surviving are two sons, Jim VanCamp (wife: Sheila) of Bluffton, Francis E. VanCamp, Jr. (wife: Trisha) of Greentown, Indiana, six grandchildren, Randall S. VanCamp of Virginia Beach, VA, Michelle L. McCarthy (husband: Rob) of Atlanta, GA, Chad E. VanCamp (wife: Tammy) of Tipton, IN, Shane VanCamp (wife: Meegan) of New Haven, IN, Mendy Yergler (husband: Shawn) of Bluffton, Brandi Ferguson (husband: Michael) of Ossian, five step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and nineteen step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim VanCamp and a sister, Evelyn Draper.
Calling hours are 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home. Services are 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Chad Clark officiating.
