Obituary:
Dennis A. Hendricks, 62, of Bluffton, died at 1:13 p.m. Mon¬day, June 7, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Hendricks was born in Paxton, Ill. on April 15, 1948, to Willmer T. “Boe” and Evelyn M. (Lanhardt) Hendricks. He married Iris F. Driscoll in Bluffton on June 29, 1978; she preceded him in death on March 22, 2002. A 1966 graduate of Chester Center High School, Mr. Hendricks drove trucks for the last 31 years. He drove for Alro Steel in Fort Wayne for 17 years, and recently drove for Smith Trucking in Poneto. He also worked for the Indiana State Highway Department. He enjoyed pulling garden tractors, gardening and working in his yard and flowers. He was a resident of Wells County since 1951 and attended First Baptist Church. Surviving relatives include two sons, David Hen¬dricks of Bluffton and Doug (Rebecca) Hendricks of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Jennifer (Paul) Kalhorn of Kalamazoo, Mich.; one sister, Beverly Stanley of Bluffton; one brother, Glenn Hendricks of Ossian; and three grandchildren, Allie Kalhorn, Kyra Hendricks and Adelle Hendricks. Mr. Hendricks was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Hendricks. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney and Lemler Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home with Pastor Bud Abrams officiating. Burial is at Six Mile Cemetery, in Bluffton.
