| Robert “Bob” E. Yergler 85 of Bluffton went home to his Heavenly Home at 5:19 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Christian Care Retirement Community.
Bob was born on September 24, 1924 in Gridley, IL. to John E. & Ella (Isch) Yergler.
He was a graduate of Ossian High School with the Class of 1942. On January 27, 1946 in Bluffton, Bob married Carolyn J. (Baumgartner) Yergler. They lived together in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for 16 years and moved back home to Bluffton in 1975. This last January, Bob & Carolyn celebrated 64 years of marriage together.
He was the owner /operator of the Liby Monument with locations in both Decatur and Bluffton. He also enjoyed working part time at Reimschisel Ford in Bluffton for many years. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.
Bob is survived by his wife Carolyn of Bluffton, and children: John (Margaret) Yergler of Fishers, IN, and Mrs. Tim (Marlise) Steffen of Bluffton. He loved his grandchildren; Jayde (Abby) Steffen, Jordon Steffen & Mrs. Braden (Adrianne) Reinhard along with 3 great-grandchildren; Blake & Kyla Reinhard & Bridget Steffen all of Bluffton. He is also survived by brothers; Truman (Marcella) Yergler, Richard (Lillian) Yergler & Claire (Mary Jane) Yergler all of Bluffton.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 8 on Friday at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton and 1 hour prior to the service at the Church on Saturday.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Apostolic Christian Church –North with Pastor Steve Ringger and Pastor John Reinhard officiating. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Bob’s memory to Christian Care Retirement Community, Family Hospice & Palliative Care or to the Apostolic Christian Church-North.
