Marie L. Siela, 86, of Bluffton, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Christian Care Retirement Community. Mrs. Siela was born in Sieverville, Tenn. on June 28, 1923, to James L. and Liddy Bright Johnson. She married Delmar G. Siela in Knoxville, Tenn. on March 23, 1946; he preceded her in death July 22, 2006. Mrs. Siela had been a resident of Wells County since 1946, and was a member of the Lancaster Homemakers Club and the Women’s Missionary Society and Murray Missionary Church. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, baking and cooking. She and her husband wintered in Florida for 35 years. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Donna Green and Kathy (Larry) Peeper, both of Bluffton; one brother, James Lewis Johnson of Harmon, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Brett (Jenny) Green of Fort Wayne, Melissa Chaney of Ossian, and Nathan (Ashley) Green, Shanda (Ryan) Nash and Travis (Fiancee, Courtney Butt) Peeper, all of Bluffton; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Siela was also preceded in death by five sisters and one brother. Calling hours will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 7, at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney and Lemler Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton and from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at the Murray Missionary Church. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the church with Pastor Mike Gilbert officiating.
