| Everett K. King, 79, of Bluffton, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Born January 11, 1931 in Wells County, Indiana to Everett E. King and Mabel Esther (Schwartz) King, he married Kathleen “Kathy” Durham January 17, 1954 in Wells County and she survives.
Mr. King graduated from Bluffton High School in 1948 and served in the Indiana National Guard from 1950 to 1957. At the time of his discharge he held the rank of sergeant. Mr. King was a lifelong resident of Wells County. He worked in the engineering department at Magnavox for 28 years retiring in 1990. He was a member of the “over the hill gang” at Magnavox and attended Grace Baptist Church.
Everett was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather.
Other surviving relatives include two daughters, Loronda Mahon of Columbus, Indiana, Kelli L. Craighead of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two sons, Charles D. “Chuck” King (wife: Tammy) of Bluffton, Bruce D. King (wife: Cynthia) of Kokomo, Indiana; eleven grandchildren and
fourteen great-grandchildren. Everett was preceded in death by a brother, Karl K. King and a sister, Ina Dickerson.
Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 and one hour prior to services Saturday, March 13, 2010 all at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home with Pastor Douglas McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Six Mile Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Grace Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made at www.thomarich.com
