| John Robert Ryan, 25 of Bluffton, passed away 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Whitley County, Indiana.
Born on October 13, 1984 in Kansas City, Missouri, he was a 2003 graduate of Homestead High School and has worked as a cabinet maker for Key Millwork in Fort Wayne, Indiana. John loved hockey. His favorite teams were the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburg Penguins. He played as a goalie for Homestead High School Hockey Team including the City Championship.
He is survived by his father, Glenn A. (wife Rhonda) Ryan of Bluffton and mother Rhonda (husband Michael) Kronley of Tulsa, OK., along with sisters; Jocelyn Ryan of Tulsa, Ok. and Jennifer Carden of East Grand Rapids, MI. along with 2 step-sisters; Heather (Todd) Morgan of Bluffton and Ali (Kate) Kronley of Philadelphia, PA, and 2 step-brothers; Heath (Wendy) Schlagenhauf of Bluffton, IN and Neal (Caroline) Kronley of New York City, NY. John is also survived by grandparents; John & Dorothy Ryan of Toledo, Ohio and Donald & Phyllis Gantz of Pratt, Kansas along with 3 nephews.
Calling Hours will be held from 2 to 8 on Tuesday at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Francis Chukwuma officiating. Burial will take place at Stahl Cemetery Bluffton, Indiana.
Memorial may be made in John’s memory to Youth Hockey Program with checks payable to Glenn Ryan.
