Obituary:
Mabel K. White, 86, of Bluffton, Indiana, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at Meadowvale Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Morgan County, Indiana on December 31, 1923, to Grover C. Anderson and Della McPhearson Anderson, she married Charles Garth White in Wells County, Indiana in 1950. Her husband preceded her in death. Mrs. White graduated from Ball State University with a Masters and Bachelors degree in education. She enjoyed a 36 year career as a school teacher in the Northern Wells School District retiring in 1983. She was a member of the former Reifsburg United Methodist Church which is now Living Water United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Bluffton Rebekah Lodge and a Past President of District 31 of the Rebekah Lodge. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Klyda White of Morro Bay, California, a step-son, Duane White of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a sister, Phyllis Snyder of Lake Placid, Florida, Five grandchildren, Duane White of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Brenda Rogers of Adrian, Michigan, Kenny White of Bluffton, Pam Dice of Baylis, Illinois, Kevin White of Adrian, Michigan; fourteen great-grandchildren, Tyler White, Trent White, Trayton White, Allison White, Taylor White, David Rogers, Angela Rogers, Ryan Dice, Joshua Dice, Jerimiah Dice, Mica Dice, Caleb White, Justin White, Nathan White; and two Great-great-grandchildren, Max White and Kaden Dice. Mrs. White was preceded in death by two brothers, John and George Anderson. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Pastor John Wolf officiating. Rebekah Lodge memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Ossian, Indiana. Preferred Memorials are to Norwell Dollars for Scholars, Wells County Food Bank, or I.O.O.F. Educational Foundation.
