Obituary:
Judy K. (Mauger) Hartzler, 64, of Markle passed away at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mrs. Hartzler was born on March 6, 1945 in Huntington County, Indiana to Branson L. & Ollie B. (Smith) Mauger. She attended Rock Creek School in Huntington County and graduated from Warren High School with the class of 1963. She obtained her Masters Degree in Teaching from St. Francis in Fort Wayne. After teaching for some time in the Fort Wayne School System, she recently worked with Early Childhood Alliance in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Hartzler enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren along with family camping and fishing trips. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time in her garden. She attended the Zanesville United Brethren Church. On July 21, 1973 at the Primitive Baptist Church in Huntington, Judy and Nolan Hartzler were married. They have shared the last 36 years together. Survivors including her husband of Markle are a daughter and two sons; Sherry (Michael) Hand of Fort Wayne, Steven (Trudy) Hartzler of Markle and Daniel Hartzler of West Lafayette, Indiana, along with 2 grandchildren Coby Hartzler and Audrey Hand. Judy is also survived by five brothers and a sister; Richard Mauger of Huntington, Bob Mauger of Huntington, Jay Mauger of Pennsylvania, Roger Mauger of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Linda ( Kenneth) Poulson of Huntington County and Jack Mauger of Huntington County, Indiana. Friends are invited to visit with the Hartzler family from 4 to 8 on Sunday at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2010 at the funeral home. Pastor Tom Datema will officiate. Burial will take place at a later time at the Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington. Memorial may be made in Mrs. Hartzler’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
