| Rick A. Bowman, 55, of Bluffton, died unexpectedly at 3:34 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at his home. Mr. Bowman had been the owner and operator of the Coal Yard barber shop in Bluffton since 1975. He was a graduate of Bluffton High School and the Indianapolis Barber College. He had lived in Wells County most of his life. He attended the Life Community Church. He loved basketball and was an avid player and fan. He coached Pee Wee League and PAL Ball basketball and also coached Tee-ball. Mr. Bowman was born Nov. 29, 1954, in Bluffton, to Jerry Bowman and Mona J. Mowery Bowman. His father survives in LaGrange. He married Margaret M. “Peggy” Zello Aug. 19, 1978, at St. Aloysius Church in Yoder. His wife survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Gina M. Bowman of Lafayette; a son, Mark N. Bowman of Bluffton; and three brothers, Tracy Bowman of LaGrange, Greg Bowman of California, and Jeff Bowman of Angola. Calling will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Life Community Church, 428 S. Oak St., Bluffton. There will be additional calling from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Life Community Church with Pastor Kent Ringger officiating. Burial will be at the Garden of Chimes at the Elm Grove Cemetery.
