Obituary:
Orville R. “Brownie” Brown, 81, of Bluffton, died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Mr. Brown was born on Aug. 14, 1928 in Wabash to Oliver R. and Mary (Hodson) Brown. He married Helen R. Brown in Huntington on June, 1983; she survives. Brownie was born in Wabash and attended Wabash High School. He lived in Minnesota for 32 years where he was the owner of a Resort and Bowling Alley. He lived in Wells County for 26 years. He was the grounds keeper for Six Mile Cemetery in Bluffton for 15 years. Brownie was known by many in Bluffton because he spent most of his time on his scooter in his garage visiting with friends and neighbors on the corner of Main and Spring Streets in Bluffton. Other surviving relatives include one sister, Mrs. Raymond Fearnow of Wabash. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by one brother, John C. Brown; and three sisters, Helen Mendenhal, Dorothy Beaver and Liz Shaffer. Memorials may be made to the Markle Fish and Game Club Park in Markle, Indiana. There will be no calling hours and no funeral services. Mr. Brown will be cremated and his ashes scattered by his family at Friends’ Cemetery in Wabash.
