| Bertha “Eileen” Fluke, 81, of Bluffton, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Fluke was born in Hoagland on Oct. 30, 1928 to Robert Cassell and Josephine (Harrod) Flora. She married Jacob W. Fluke in Hoagland on Feb. 5, 1949; he survives.
A 1945 graduate of Hoagland High School, Mrs. Fluke lived in Wells County since 1949. She retired, after 12 years of service, from the Wells Community Hospital, in 1990. She was a member of the first Wells County 4-H Council, and an active member of the Zanesville United Methodist Church and Wells County Farm Bureau Inc.
Other surviving relatives include five daughters, Linda (Randal) Plummer of Keystone, Sandra (Gilbert) Young of Huntington, “Cinda” (Ron) Fluke-Alvarez of Lexington, Ky., Jalene (Mark) Huff of Kauai, Hawaii, and Dixie (Robert) Wagner of Lake Wylie, S.C.; four brothers, Joseph (Willis) Flora of Indianapolis, Glenn Flora of Vacaville, Calif., Dale Flora of Fort Wayne and Robert (Wayne) Flora of Liberty Mo.; three sisters, Martha (Luman) Whittern of Bloomington, Elsie (William) Van Vranken of Bemidji, Minn. and Roselyn (Winston) Lister of Rio Verde, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Zanesville United Methodist Church with Dixie Wagner and the Rev. Tom Watt leading the service. The family will visit with friends following the service. Burial is at Hoverstock Cemetery, in Zanesville.
